Brunswick looking to simplify boats' impressive array of technology

Standing in the cockpit of a $2 million, 63-foot Hatteras boatmoored in Burnham Harbor, T.J. Chung makes a slow sweeping gestureover the eight consoles and screens for monitoring and controllingthe luxury yacht.

It's an impressive display of marine technology, one that isduplicated in a second cockpit on the bridge of the English Roses V,a corporate boat used by Chung's boss, George Buckley, chairman ofBrunswick Corp., the world's largest boat manufacturer. All told, theyacht has $100,000 worth of gear.
