Qld: Funds will help Lifeline keep more families afloat

Lifeline is expected to be handed three million dollars by the Queensland government
in today's mid-year budget review.

Counsellor JILLIAN FLETCHER says the funding will be spread over two years .. to help
combat an expected to rise in unemployment.

Ms FLETCHER says the funding will double the number of appointments Lifeline can handle.

She says it will be a huge relief to counsellors who are distressed by the numbers
of people they've been turning away.
