Full Family of Drive Test Tools Now Support the Latest Version of EV-DO to Help Ensure Fast Throughput and Optimal Performance
LAKE FOREST, Calif., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Comarco, Inc. , an industry-leading supplier of wireless test systems for field applications, today announced that its data throughput measurements on CDMA 1xEV-DO Rev. A is now supported in its whole family of drive test tools. This includes the compact, optimization-focused Solo to the industry-leading Multi Quality of Service measurement platform.
1x Evolution-Data Optimized (1xEV-DO) is a wireless radio broadband data standard adopted by many CDMA mobile phone service providers in the United States and other countries worldwide. 1xEV-DO Rev. A is currently being commercially deployed in Japan by KDDI and in the United States by Sprint and Verizon Wireless. Rev. A offers fast packet establishment on both the forward and reverse links along with air interface enhancements that reduce latency and improved data rates. EV-DO Rev. A supports low latency services, including VoIP and Video Telephony on the same carrier with traditional Internet packet data services.

The 1xEV-DO Rev. A upgrades are now available with support for several popular air cards, including the Sierra Wireless AC595 and Novatel S720. Measurements from all layers of the EV-DO Rev. A network that supported the call, from the physical layer to the transmission and error correction layers to the over-the-air Layer 3 messaging, are logged and decoded in real-time to allow for root cause analysis and efficient fault resolution of degraded performance.
